In this workshop, join local artist Jon Barcan to learn how to incorporate digital imagery into traditional copper intaglio etching processes. Students will learn how to expose text, illustration, and photography to silkscreens, and screen print water-based ink to the surface of their metal substrate. This ink layer will act as the plate’s acid resist during the completion of darkly etched aquatint tones.

The highlight of this workshop is its versatility. Artists can use this unique process to incorporate any artistic imagery that is made digitally. We will provide all materials and guidance, ensuring that each attendee can fully engage with both digital and hand-drawn techniques. Ideal for artists looking to explore new mediums or expand their printmaking skills, this workshop offers a unique blend of modern and traditional methods, giving life to your artistic visions. Join us to push the boundaries of printmaking making!
